What are the details of the server specifications?
Below you will find the spec. of our dedicated BlueQuartz servers. We can change the spec. to suit your needs, add more memory, increase the bandwidth, etc. Just contact us with your request. The servers are configured to run the CentOS4 OS together with the open-sourced BlueQuartz GUI. However, we can install DirectAdmin for a small charge if you don't want to use the BlueQuartz GUI.

Where are your servers located?
Our servers are located within IP House, a data centre owned by Legend Communications plc.  The data centre is a purpose built multi-million pound Tier 1 facility, situated on the outskirts of London Docklands, providing the ultimate in redundancy, uptime, and network colocation services. The data centre has been built utilizing N+1 design philosophy. N+1 ensures that every part of the data centre is not only redundant, but has a hot spare on standby in case of an emergency.

What about uptime?
We have also adopt N+1 design philosophy to improve uptime for our clients. Whilst nobody can realistically offer 100% uptime, we believe that we are as close as possible to delivering it to our clients. ALL Cobalt Network rack cabinets are connected to multiple Tier 1 carriers (BT - Legend - Telia) with dual routers and dual switches to improve redundancy.

Do your servers include any pre-installed packages?
Yes they do! As well as the usual software you would expect to find on a Linux server, our BlueQuartz dedicated servers come with the following extras pre-installed for you:

• Webalizer package

Do you monitor my server?
Every dedicated server package includes 24/7 monitoring of one port on the server. This is a passive monitoring service that tests your ICMP (ping) port at 5-minute intervals. If this port does not respond, our monitoring service will notify you immediately via e-mail and if the server is completely unreachable, we will restart the system. We also offer additional monitoring services to allow you to quickly detect any problem your server may experience. Further details of these services can be found here.

How long does it take to setup a server?
Our servers can normally be setup within 24 hours of received your order.

Can I have more than one IP address?
Extra IP addresses can be arranged for an additional fee. Contact us for details.

What if I need more memory?
Additional memory can be easily be fitted. Contact us for details of costs.

What if I need more bandwidth?
Additional bandwidth can be easily arranged. Contact us for details of costs.

Can you provide SSL certificates?
We provide 1 FREE GeoTrust SSL certificate with every BlueQuartz server. If you require more, please contact us.

How long is the contract for?
We expect you to lease a dedicated server, initially, for a minimum of 12 months. At the end of the year, you can opt to lease monthly. You can pay monthly, after you have paid your deposit (equivalent to 3 months).

How do I order a server?
The initial month's invoice and any setup fees should be paid first by cheque direct transfer, or credit card. All other ongoing costs will be paid either by cheque, direct transfer, credit card or standing order. Invoices will be issued every month, both for the standard charges and any variables charges (e.g. additional bandwidth).
